Senator Veronica Maina has taken a moment to welcome and congratulate new leadership of the United Democratic Alliance. In her message she noted:
“Congratulations to Gov Cecil Mbarire the incoming Chairperson UDA , Hon Cleopas Malala who takes over from me as Secretary General UDA , Hon Hassan Omar incoming Deputy Chair , Hon Kawaya incoming Organising Secretary and Hon Nyakudi incoming Treasurer.
I remain very grateful to the Party Leader and President of Republic of Kenya H.E William Ruto together with Dep Party Leader H.E Rigathi Gachagua for the opportunity and the confidence they accorded to me , in allowing me to serve as the first Secretary General of the Party . Togetheinr with the UDA team we charted through rough terrain of setting up the Party structures and working hard to secure a win to Presidency under most difficult political circumstances . I gave it my all and I must pave way especially for the incoming energetic Secretary General Hon Malala who is now entrusted with pushing the vision of Kenya Kwanza Coalition to the next level . He will be serving on a full time basis .
The UDA Party is set on a foundation of prayer and great faith to transform the lives of all Kenyans. I have confidence that the incoming team is well position and equipped to lead UDA to the next level of Victory with utmost integrity .
Am grateful for all the support I was accorded by all members in various structures of the Party , including the Coordinators across the 47 counties who did a commendable job in raising the membership of UDA from 53,000 Members to a strong eight million members .
Now I will concentrate my energies at Senate with same zeal and dedication that we employed to bringing UDA to where it is .
