It was a light moment for all at bomas during the endorsement of Raila Odinga by Muungano and Narc parties when Mwingi West Member of Parliament Aspirant Patrick Koki placed humor in the opening prayer.

Giving his speech the jovial Koki called upon the entire Kamba community to be vigilanatvigilant and loyal to Raila Odinga and support the Azimio coalition and said that it it sits it’s the only coalition that has a positive plan for change and development.

As an honor, he took the center stage to pray for the event and, unlike other leaders he took it as a golden moment to pray for his bid in Mwingi West a position he has been fighting for a long time calling upon God’s intervention in his bid and also the people’s support.

The National Rainbow Coalition (Narc) and Muungano parties led by Governors Charity Ngilu and Kivutha Kibwana endorsed Raila Odinga for the presidency in the upcoming election.

Narc party leader Charity Ngilu expressed confidence in the choice of Odinga as their preferred candidate, saying the country’s future will be secured. “We feel our dreams, hopes and resources will be safe in Baba’s hands. As a woman leader and a mother, I know Kenya will be safe in Baba’s hands,” Ngilu told delegates at Bomas.

Odinga, who had jetted back vividly reminisced of his days as the leader of the opposition, working together with Ngilu. “Charity is a fearless woman. I have worked with her before when we were in the opposition,” he said.

The ODM chief dismissed off leaders who have been referring to him as a “government project” and urged his supporters to ignore such messages. “These people saying Raila is a project…how can I be a project? That is rubbish…,” said Raila, promising to liberate Kenyans economically if elected.

Several leaders under Azimio were in attendance including Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos) Ann Kananu (Nairobi), Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, and Senator Ledama Olekina (Narok)
