CJ Koome today sworn in the 7 CRA nominees who were vetted on December 5, 2022.

The commissioners they were selected from a pool of 139 applicants who expressed interest in forming part of the agency.

Commissioners at the Commission on Revenue Allocation were sworn in at the Supreme Court buildings and presided over by Chief Justice Martha Koome.

Former Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi and ODM boss Raila Odinga’s cousin George Midiwo are among those who were nominated and sworn in.

The agency has been now fully tasked and now recommended the basis for equitable sharing of revenues raised nationally between the national and the county governments.

Jane Kiringai CRA Chairperson said that they will work together with the new team.

“We will work together with the Kenyans and the new team.”

Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday oversaw the swearing-in of the members of the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).

At the same time, retired Chief Justice David Maraga was sworn in as chairperson of a task force that will oversee reforms at the National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service.

Also sworn in were 22 other members of the task force, which is mandated to identify the constraints on effective service delivery by NPS and KPS.

During the ceremony, Koome said CRA is a major facilitator of the realisation of the dream of establishing a “fair and just State that is embodied in the Constitution”.

CRA’s principal mandate is to make recommendations on sharing of revenue collected nationally between the national and county governments.
