The Bishop of Kenya Assemblies of God Bishop Simon Kieru has welcomed the proposal to have ordained men of God serve in various government capacities.
Bishop Kieru in his message noted:
“This proposal is very nice because the ordained men and women of God uphold highest degree of integrity. These are also people who are not self centred and they know their mandate for better service delivery to Kenyans.”
Bishop Kieru was however quick to emphasize on the need for q thorough vetting of the would-be beneficiaries. He says,
“its important that these men and women of God should be vetted because we also have a small fraction of men of God of questionable character.”
Bishop Kieru also challenged the church to maintain its oversight role to the government so that it can be able to point out any erroneous undertakings by the Government. It’s (the Church) should not be seen as if it’s being manipulated by the Government. It should remain non partial,” he concluded.
