Stivo Simple Boy: I received Ksh 500,000 from Odibets advertisement and used it to build a house for my parents
The talented rapper is making his mark in the industry, minting money from making music and entrepreneurship
Fast-rising singer and entrepreneur Stivo Simple Boy has revealed the highest amount of money he earned after a gig and how he used the same.
In an interview on the “Iko Nini” podcast, the “Vijana Tuwache Mihadarati” hitmaker revealed that he pocketed Ksh 500,000 after featuring in an advertisement for betting firm, Odibets.
The musician recounted that at the time, the priority was to get his parents a decent abode and he channeled the money in building a house for his parents.
“It was half a million that was for the ad…Nilishika hizo pesa nikajengea wazazi nyumba ushago,” Simple Boy recounted.
Simple Boy hit the screens nine months ago in an advertisement for Odibets as the firm popularized its cash out feature.
The deal saw his fans hail him for his resilience and for defying trolls to bounce back.
He also explained that making music is a profitable venture as long as one is patient and humble.
“Usanii unalipa ukiwa humble. Kama hauna vituko mingi ohh na ma clout mingi inalipa, ukitulia tu,” Simple Boy whose real name is Steven Otieno explained.

Stivo also revealed that he was forced to remove the name of the late president Mwai Kibaki from a verse of his latest hit,
The ‘Freshi barida’ hitmaker also explained that out of respect, he was forced to remover former President Mwai Kinbaki’s name from a verse of the song after the former President died before the release of the song.
The entrepreneur behind the Freshi Barida fashion brand noted that the song’s audio was ready before Kibaki’s death.
However, the former president’s death left him with no option but to remove his name from the verse.
“Tulisema hapo kwa Kibaki wacha tu mute coz italeta maneno mengi. Ukiskia kwa io ngoma, utaskia ki ki ki,” he said.
