Outgoing Murang’a County Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has finally joined Azimio La Umoja coalition.
Governor Wa Iria, who is eyeing the presidency, announced on Tuesday that he has joined Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja faction.
Wa Iria made the revelations at Serena Hotel Nairobi County.
The county chief was eyeing the presidency on the Usawa Kwa Wote party ticket before the IEBC declined to clear him for the same.
Governor Wa Iria will now be backing Raila and his running mate for the presidency in the upcoming August 9th general elections.
The ODM party leader will be banking on his support in his bid to win a majority of the Mt Kenya votes which is crucial in determining the presidency on 9th August.
