The war of words over the naming of a flag bearer for the opposition outfit NASA escalated on Wednesday after former Vice president and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka accused Raila Odinga’s ODM of misleading the public about a Raila-Kalonzo ticket.
Mr. Musyoka further demanded that ODM’s Agnes Zani withdraws the statement the party made on Raila being the opposition candidate in public.
“Zani has to withdraw the remarks publicly. Nothing is [final] until it is agreed upon. We do not have a flag bearer as of now,” he said.
He further blamed the coordinating committee for leaking the controversial report to the public before the four NASA principals had fully agreed on who should face President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming August elections.
He added that reports on the NASA principal who will take on President Uhuru Kenyatta were still being prepared.
“This (NASA flag bearer issue) will not persist for another month, I assure you. Reports are being prepared and we will take a decision later on the issue,” he said.
